Nights In — the cover of the illustrated bedtime yoga guide

You have already read the list.

Cut the caffeine. Cooler room. Same bedtime. Screens off an hour before. You have either tried it or decided it was beside the point, and either way you are still awake at one in the morning with a mind that will not stop producing.

This is not that list again.

It is six physical shapes, all done lying in bed, and an honest explanation of why they do something the advice does not. There is nothing to track, nothing to score, and nothing that asks you to get back up once you are finally under the covers.

If any of this sounds like you

“My brain is fully conscious all night. It just won’t shut off.”

“I fall asleep easily but wake up at 1–4am and then just don’t fall back asleep at all. Then I’m a zombie during the day.”

“I’m so tired and heavy-eyed and still totally unable to sleep.”

“I’ve been doing all the right things for a decade and I still have sleep problems.”

Then you are not looking for information. You are looking for something to do with your body at eleven at night, that is small enough that you will still do it on the bad evenings.

The journal is the part people keep

Most sleep books end and that is that. This one has thirty-eight writing fields and eighty tick boxes built into the file itself. Open it in any PDF reader on your phone, tap a line, type. It saves with the document.

You answer four questions before you start — how long it takes you to fall asleep, what wakes you, what you do when it happens, how the mornings feel. Then one small block per night for fourteen nights: tick what applies, write one word about the morning. Fourteen words in a row show you a pattern you cannot argue with.

At the end you answer the same four questions again. The gap between the two sets is the only result that matters, and it is in your own handwriting rather than mine.

Why in bed, and not on a mat

Every evening yoga sequence assumes a mat, a clear patch of floor and twenty minutes of willingness. On the nights that matter most you have none of those things.

So nothing here asks for them. Every practice is done lying on the mattress, under the covers if you want, with two pillows for support. The version people actually do beats the better version they abandon on night three.

Two ways to do this

Most people start with the book, use the twenty minutes to ask the one question that is actually theirs, and never need anything else. Some want the whole hour with me from the beginning. Both are fine.

Questions

I don't struggle to fall asleep — I wake up at 3am. Will this help?

That is the most common version of this problem, and chapter seven exists for it. It is a separate six-minute practice for the middle of the night, done without turning on a light or sitting up. Read it before you need it rather than at 3am.

Is this just sleep hygiene advice again?

No. There is no list of habits, nothing about screens or bedtimes, no tracker and no app. It is six physical shapes, done lying in bed, and an honest explanation of why they work.

I have no yoga experience and I'm not flexible.

Neither is required. Every shape is passive, done lying down, and supported with pillows. Depth is irrelevant here — the effect comes from slowness and stillness, not range of motion.

How long does each practice take?

Five minutes in the first week, ten in the second. The last three nights you cut it down to the shortest version you will actually keep doing.

What do I actually get?

A 19-page illustrated PDF you download immediately. Nine chapters, fourteen nights, six practices with illustrations, the 3am protocol and a printable tracker. Yours to keep, readable on a phone in the dark.

What if it doesn't work for me?

Write to Melania within 30 days and you get your money back, no explanation needed. You have already spent money on things that did not work — this one should not be another.
